An impressive figure of 4,360 child labourers entered school in the academic year 2005-2006. This feat was achieved under the banner of School Chalo Abhiyan (school enrollment campaign) during July-September 2005 by Bachpan Bachao Andolan (BBA) (Save our Childhood Campaign).

OneWorld South Asia Interfaith Meet Nov 2005
17.11.2005 Over twenty organizations representing different faiths, including Bahai, Buddhist, Christian, Hindu, Parsi and Sikh religions, participated in a seminar on Inter-faith Connectedness and the Millennium Development Goals. The meeting was replete with varying philosophies, approaches and programmes for support and development of grassroots communities.

Over 90 activists, academics, members of government and community women from India and Nepal, SriLanka, India, Nigeria, Krgystan, and Uganda assembled at UNDP hall, New Delhi, on November 13th and 14th for an International Consultation on Women’s Land and Resource Rights. Community women’s experiences were supplemented with legal and conceptual information from people who have worked on the issue at the policy and law reform level.
