25.05.2005 After two paper versions of the UNESCO Atlas of the World’s Languages in Danger of Disappearing (1996 and 2001), the information collected on a large number of endangered languages in all parts of the world will now be available online, starting with the map of the African continent.

10.05.2005 UNESCO's Global Education Digest 2005 says that four out of every five of the world's children between the ages of 10 and 15 are today enrolled in lower secondary education. The digest shows that secondary education is expanding rapidly worldwide and also takes a look at gender parity in secondary education because access to education in an important component of the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs).
