05.05.2005 WGBH Boston and Vulcan Productions, in partnership with PBS, TIME magazine and The Penguin Press, recently announced Rx for Survival - A Global Health Challenge, an unprecedented multimedia project that will inform Americans about key issues in global health. In addition, humanitarian organizations CARE, Save the Children and UNICEF, with the Global Health Council, will create an outreach campaign to benefit children, who are most vulnerable to preventable yet deadly diseases in the developing world.

Join the Global Health Council as it launches a new report, Faith in Action. This report focuses on faith-based organizations and their response to the global HIV/AIDS fight. This report reveals the unique strengths, key constraints and untapped potential of FBOs and promises to activate a constructive dialogue between members of the faith community and others working to optimize and expand the global response to the pandemic.

13.04.2005 In acknowledgement of the tsunami and earthquake tragedy, the Global Health Council and the White Ribbon Alliance for Safe Motherhood are accepting nominations of individuals, local NGOs and international NGOs that provided assistance to pregnant women and newborns, during and after the tsunami disaster. The award and a small monetary donation will be presented during the closing plenary of the Global Health Council’s annual conference in May 2005.
