27.08.2003 A telephone help line launched to address the increasing number of HIV+ cases in the western Indian state of Rajasthan is getting a good response with 100,000 calls received in the past two years. Callers can get information on symptoms, diagnosis, and support for people living with HIV/AIDS, and can record their personal queries.

HIV/AIDS issues figure in the soap opera
23.08.2003 ‘Heart & Soul’, a television and radio soap opera series broadcast in Kenya and 11 other Eastern African countries, is focusing on six key social and development issues - HIV/AIDS and health, human rights, governance, gender issues, poverty eradication and care for the environment. Initiated by UN and produced by local talent, the broadcast is targeted at a potential audience of 50 to 75 million people across Africa.
