Canada supports education initiative in Bhutan

Canada is to support Bhutanese efforts in improving the quality and accessibility of lifelong learning skills. A $4 million contribution will be used to support basic education priorities established by the Bhutanese Ministry of Education, particularly related to the teaching of English and mathematics.

The Youth Skills Enterprise Initiative in Zambia has started a microcredit programme for street children where young people between the ages of 14 and 22 undergo three weeks of training in business and life skills. After the training, they are given loans to start their business, which are to be repaid over three months.
