01.06.2005 The B.C. Teachers' Federation has filed suit in B.C. Supreme Court, calling Premier Gordon Campbell to account for false and defamatory statements he made five days prior to the recent election. Coming at a crucial point in the final week of the campaign, the statements were extensively, and uncritically, reported in provincial and local media.

21.02.2005 Teachers in B.C. are celebrating a landmark Court ruling. The B.C. Court of Appeal has affirmed that teachers can grieve violations of the class size numbers in the School Act. The government had previously stripped class size limits from the teachers' collective agreement, resulting in larger classes and less individual attention for students.
