AfriHealth Conference 2009
This is the third successive year for the prestigious Pan African conference which has gained recognition for the diversity and content of its presentations.
The theme for the AfriHealth 2009 Conference is “ICT in Healthcare – Are We Doing Enough For Africa?”
The conference aims to provide professionals and specialists a platform for interaction and collaboration to promote and develop the use of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) in the health and bio-science domain.
Since the first conference in 2007, there has been a noticeable change in the pace of ICT development work in the Healthcare industry but much of this is yet to filter through and have the expected impacts.
The 2009 theme questions the extent of current research and development using ICT technology and the amount of effort being made to progress ICT developments in the African Healthcare arena.
Much more can be done than is presently being done for Healthcare. The Conference, in its third year, will be the meeting point for all healthcare participants to share ideas, showcase developments, and develop action plans to speed up improvements in the industry.
The previous conferences had outstanding presentations from many African and International speakers and the 2009 sessions will be no exception. The conference work groups are addressing issues raised at the previous conferences and will report back on progress to date at the 2009 conference.
AFRIHealth 2009, supported by the Kenyan Ministry of Medical Services, will provide the ideal forum for debate and action.
