Mobile app drive to ward off garbage stench

A mobile app has launched a new campaign called #raiseastink across social platforms to address the perpetual increase in garbage heaps.

 

Mumbai: iPunch is a mobile app which highlights various social issues through pictures, and have now rolled out its latest innovative campaign called #raiseastink with an exclusive partnership with Samsung Galaxy Apps. It makes process of social change appealing to youth and have developed unique animations through which users can express themselves on various social issues captured on mobile camera.

#raiseastink by iPunch gives us a peak into our future woes with garbage, while asking you to raise a stink today on the issue. These images shot at a landfill recreate moments, by amalgamating people participating in activities associated with scenic mountains, with that of the landfill. The grail of this campaign is to identify garbage black spots. It is also closely working with the civil society organizations to take this campaign to educational institutes and corporates as part of the outreach program.

With a parternship with Samsung Galaxy Apps, the application can be easily downloaded. Speaking about the launch of this campaign, Tarun Malik, ‎Director, Media Solutions Center & Cloud Services, South-West Asia, Samsung Electronics said, “At Samsung, we take on ourselves the challenge to lead via software innovation. iPunch is one such innovative way of bringing about a positive change; and we are hoping that it will let millions of Samsung consumers in India actively participate and support a larger cause that impacts our day to day lives”.

Rajesh Choudhary, CEO and Founder, iPunch added, “Standing up for change is taken serious and preachy at times by the youth of today, and our challenge was to change this paradigm and build social empathy . iPunch uses mobiles cameras to capture social issues, and drive user engagement through animation based on primal emotions” This initiative provides as a support solution to Prime Minister Modi’s call for a Swachh Bharat campaign and it will continue to focus on building awareness and initiating hyper local waste management drives.
