Unbelievable Bihar: A brand new image of the state

15 July 2010

On the likes of Incredible India and Vibrant Gujarat, ‘Unbelievable Bihar’, a new website is being prepared that would provide information on the state’s identity, culture, and several initiatives taken for industrial development. Visitors would be able to access details through pictures, video films and articles.

Patna: The State government sponsored Bihar Foundation is soon going to launch a comprehensive website—Unbelievable Bihar— to portray the changing faces of the state as well as its cultural heritage and glorious past.

The website, with an aim to branding Bihar, is being prepared on the patterns of ‘Incredible India’ and ‘Vibrant Gujarat’.

The website would contain all relevant information about Bihar right from the state’s identity, folk songs, tourism, art and culture and delicious food to the government’s initiatives for industrial development in the recent past, foundation's spokesperson Satyajit Narain Singh said.

“We have also decided to seek the help of the artists of the state in the launch of the website,” Singh said, adding that the information would be provided through pictures, video films and articles. The famous folk dance like Sama Chakewa and Dom Kuch would also be displayed on the website.

Patna’s Golghar, Kakolat’s water fall besides Nawada’s Kundle van (forest) are a few things, which would find place on the website. Famous personalities/celebrities of the state besides things of historical importance like World Peace Pagoda at Vaishali would also be portrayed.

There would be a space for the viewers to send their comments on the articles and pictures through e-mail. “Before the launch of the website, the Bihar Foundation has decided to create awareness among the people through hoarding, posters, banners, films and other means of advertisement,” Singh added.
