Word Bank India now on Facebook
17 August 2012
The World Bank India has launched its Facebook page. World Bank is also planning to organise an online discussion with economic thinkers from all over the world on the current global economic situation and prospects for advanced and developing economies including India.
More and more organisations are establishing their presence on the social websites, like the Facebook, Twitter and the YouTube. World Bank’s Facebook page--http://www.facebook.com/WorldBankIndia, comes close on the heels of the launch of a Facebook page on community radio by India’s Ministry of Information and Broadcasting.
Not just government organisations, but popular personalities are also seeking their place on the social websites in an attempt to make their reach wider and to increase their accessibility to the masses.
Recently, Pranab Mukherjee became the first President of India to have a Facebook account. Rashtrapati Bhavan created the account and also flashed the programmes attended by him on YouTube.
