Community Radio page rocks on Facebook

The Ministry of Information Broadcasting is the latest ministry to hit social networking. The ministry's Community Radio page on Facebook is becoming a vibrant forum for discussion on the Community Radio policy, Community Radio stations and issues around sustainability.
Delhi: A Facebook page launched by the India's Ministry of Information and Broadcasting (MIB), has opened the sluice gates for the country's burgeoning community of community radio broadcasters to air their grievances, get updates on the progress of their files and check on the status of licenses for setting up community radio (CR) stations.
That is not all. In a matter of just one month, the MIB Facebook page, Community Radio India – MIB, has notched up nearly 500 likes, in the process, drawing attention of senior bureaucrats not only within the MIB but across other departments of the government.
